Rosalynn_CarterThe Carter Center Mental Health Program in Atlanta offers six one-year fellowships for U.S. journalists to report on a selected topic regarding mental health or mental illnesses.

Mental illnesses constitute some of the most serious and under-reported health problems in the United States and around the world. As part of an international effort to reduce stigma and discrimination, The Rosalynn Carter Fellowships will provide stipends to journalists from the United States, Romania, and Colombia to report on topics related to mental illness.

Candidates must provide proof of application or have secured a place in an NCTJ accredited course during the 2014-15 academic year, beginning in August.

The fellow will go to Boston and New York to study at MIT’s Center for International Studies and work for U.S. media outlets, including The New York Times and The Boston Globe.

RNTC_courseMidcareer print, online and broadcast journalists in the Middle East and North Africa can apply for a scholarship program in the Netherlands.

The Radio Nederland Training Centre (RNTC) offers a 10-day video journalism course, sponsored by the MENA Scholarship Programme (MSP). The course is open to journalists with at least three years of experience in broadcast, print and/or online journalism.
