enar-foundation2The European Network Against Racism (ENAR) Foundation awards projects and actions that contribute to the achievement of a racism-free Europe. The prizes go to an Individual, NGO, Public authority, Businesses, Researcher and Public figure that are committed to a diverse Europe.

The second ENAR Foundation Awards wants to draw attention to the work done on the ground to create a racism-free Europe and to build a society of equality and solidarity for all. For example, they seek projects that aim to encourage mutual understanding and raise awareness about the dangers of racism, companies that implement inclusion plans with their workforce and public authorities that support marginalised communities.

They are independent awards that seek excellence in the areas of gender, disability, sexual orientation, age, race, culture and religion across Europe.

One of the categories of these prizes is the journalist of the year, which recognises the role of media in promoting diversity and inclusion. This year, the winner has been BBC School Report, an inclusive project which works with a wide range of schools from across the UK and with thousands of students of all social backgrounds, to help young people report on the stories which matter to them.

One of the events is a photo competition “Put your project in the headline”.   The EU Neighbourhood Info Centre, in cooperation with INTERACT ENPI, invites all EU funded projects implemented in the EU Neighbourhood to submit their best photo describing how they are making a difference.

The competition seeks the participants to say with a photo what EU cooperation means for them. The deadline for submissions is 30 September 2013 and applicants must use the submission form online.

Call for Women and Environment Short Films PDF Print

IsraelfilmThe International Women’s Film Festival in Rehovot (Israel) invites participants to submit short films for an online competition on the theme of Women and the Environment.  The genre can be feature, documentary, animation or experimental.

The maximum length is 4.5 min. The chosen films will be screened online and participate in a Facebook competition, open for the general public.

IJNet Contest for Best Coverage of Infectious Diseases PDF Print

Regions: US, Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa

africa gates foundationJournalists from the United States, Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa can win international reporting trips worth up to $10,000 for submitting the best stories on infectious diseases.

Stories can address diseases including AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria and must be in English or French.

The deadline for submission is 1st of August 2013.
