About Us

Macedonian Institute for Media was founded in 2001 as a non-profit and truly independent organization, open for all media and journalists in Macedonia.
79 media, news agencies and professional organizations from Macedonia are members of the institute.


The main goals of MIM are:


To upgrade the professional skills of Macedonian media
To support the development of independent and free media
To support development of future journalism education, professional standards
   and ethics
To develop links between Macedonian and international media professionals
   and support their participation in regional and international training.


Activities:

Journalism training at all levels and training for other media professionals
  (media managers, editors, cameramen, photo journalists etc..)
Development and implementation of "training of trainers" program in journalism
Organization of conferences, round tables, panel discussion, seminars,
   meetings and monitoring activities for support and development of the
   democratic and professional media in Macedonia.
Joint projects with international organizations and participation in regional
   and international training programs.
Support and development in education of young journalists in Macedonia.
Library, documentation and resource centre to support investigative journalism
   and professional development of media and journalists in RM

The essential objective of the initiative is the Institute being the platform for the participation of Macedonian journalists and media in regional and international co-operation.
The institute is member of the established network of Media Training Centers in Southeast Europe.
