Internews Europe works to harness the power of media and information to help people hold their governments accountable, develop tolerant and prosperous communities, and to make sense of the driving forces affecting their lives.
It seeks to make public debate more inclusive, tolerant and better equipped to tackle complex emerging issues such as Avian Influenza.They address three mutually reinforcing key areas: Media in Governance, Media for Development and Building New Information Environments. Through working closely with local organizations and the international community to ensure that the benefits of diverse, independent media and information systems are made available to the countries and communities most in need of them.
