The aim of the award is to promote tolerance among journalists and in society in general. It covers ethnic discrimination, especially on the grounds of being a member of Roma community. A statue is presented to broadcast, print and online media staff by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania’s Department of National Minorities and Lithuanians Living Abroad. The award was introduced in 2007 and is being given ever since.
