This years’ Annual Report first examines legal developments and institutional initiatives against racism and discrimination in Europe, focusing on the application in practice of the Racial Equality Directive. Next it covers developments in the area of racist violence and crime in the EU Member States, and this is followed by a focus on racism and discrimination issues in four areas of social life: employment, housing, education and health care. The final thematic chapter covers developments at an EU level relevant to combating racism, xenophobia and discrimination in the Member States of the EU.
