2025 was a remarkable and at times challenging year for our project work. We celebrated many major milestones, with the launch of several new projects, a focus on youth, innovation, and helping strengthen local media, among many other achievements. Here are some of our project highlights:
Get The Trolls Out (GTTO) slowly drew to a close at the end of April 2025, wrapping up 10 years of work in the field of combatting religious discrimination in the European media sphere. The fifth and final stage of the project ran from December 2023 until April 2025, creating a wealth of resources, guides, and campaigns. With the surge of Islamophobia and antisemitism spreading across Europe alongside the rise of the far right and anti-Muslim narratives tied with anti-migrant rhetoric, GTTO responded through a range of targeted actions. Although the project formally wrapped up in April, it leaves behind a strong legacy: a rich collection of resources, campaigns and toolkits for young people, media professionals, civil society organisations and educators. All materials remain freely available on the project’s website, ensuring the work continues to inspire and support others well beyond the project’s lifetime.
GTTO was named as an example of ‘good practice’ in an OSCE report on anti-Christian hate crimes. The report highlighted the pivotal role both traditional media and social media platforms play in raising awareness about the nature and impact of intolerance against Christians.
