Training to help SADC journalists report on regional integration

Mid-career journalists in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) can apply to attend a training program on “Reporting Integration: History, Politics and Economics of SADC,” from August 16 to 27 in Johannesburg. Deadline: June 14.

The program will aim to enhance the quality of reporting on SADC matters in the regional media, and will be conducted through theoretical lectures, group work and discussions. Participants will be given an introduction to the history, politics and economics of SADC and will deal journalistically with these topics.

The course is open to mid-career journalists from newspapers, magazines, news agencies and online media. Applicants should have a minimum of four years of professional experience and be proficient in English.

The course is being offered by the Institute for the Advancement of Journalism (IAJ) and the International Institute for Journalism (IIJ), InWent, Berlin.
