The European Commission has established the e-Inclusion Awards to raise awareness, encourage participation and recognize excellence and good practice in using ICT and digital technology to challenge social and digital exclusion across Europe.

It indirectly covers social groups marginalized on the basis of their age, youth, ethnicity or disability. It consists of the medal and exhibition opportunity. The award is given by European Commission, to broadcast, print, and online journalists in EU, Liechtenstein, Croatia, Turkey, Iceland, Norway and Switzerland. It was awarded for the first time in 2008.
